ANAHEIM, Calif — The Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday began preparing for a football game by practicing at a baseball stadium.
During a week-long stay in California before squaring of with the Los Angeles Rams, the Eagles are staying at a hotel in Costa Mesa and are holding workouts at Angel Stadium, home of Major League Baseball’s Angels. The team took the field for their first full practice of the week Wednesday, and things started off without a hitch.
The video below offers a look at the atmosphere.

This week represents a bit of a throwback for Angel Stadium, which served as the Rams’ home field from 1980 to 1994, when the team moved to St. Louis. The Rams moved back to the Area in 2016, but they now play home games at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
The Eagles set up a full-length field for the week of practice, and they’re holding meetings and films at their hotel. Philadelphia (10-2) is adjusting to these new surroundings during an important week of preparation; their game against the Rams (9-3) on Sunday will hold significant implications for the landscape of the NFC playoff picture.
So far, Eagles coach Doug Pederson said practice and meetings have unfolded smoothly.
“It’s been pretty seamless,” Pederson said. “I gotta credit our IT staff and our video department, training and medical staff and even everybody that came out to set our hotel up, set up Angel Stadium. It’s been seamless. Gracious for the Angels for letting us practice over there, and our grounds crew has done a great job.”
