Should Gordon Hayward come back this season?
The brutality of Hayward’s injury was so shocking that no one thought he could come back this year, but the pace of his recovery has been quick. With his competitive nature and the Celtics in position to compete for an NBA championship, there is no way Hayward can sit on the sidelines in playoffs when it’s all hands on deck. He will be back this season.
Hayward may be walking around without a brace, but recovering from an injury is a completely different monster for athletes. Not only does the injury have to heal, players have to get back in playing shape, be comfortable running and cutting and be as agile as they were before.
The way Hayward’s injury looked, there is no way he will be in NBA-shape before the end of the season. It is better for him to make a full recovery so he doesn’t rush back and get hurt again. He should just sit out until next season.
Eh. You mean he will begin basketball activities in March or early April. He still has to get back in game condition which will probably take weeks or months.
