Senators take down Richmond Flying Squirrels 5-3
Harrisburg bounced back from Friday’s loss and bested the Richmond Flying Squirrels 5-3 in game two of a three game weekend series.
After falling behind 1-0 in the first inning, Jose Marmolejos jacked a three run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Senators on top 3-1.
Neftali Soto crushed an RBI double in the fifth inning and Marmolejos scored on a wild pitch later in the inning to extend the Senators’ lead to 5-1.
The Flying Squirrels scored a run in the sixth inning and another in the seventh inning to draw closer, but their comeback attempt ultimately fell short.
John Simms earned his second win of the season for the Senators, while Wander Suero captured his sixth save in the win.
The two sides will finish their weekend series tomorrow with a 12:05 p.m. start in Richmond.
