Senators hold on to early lead in 3-1 victory over Bowie Baysox
The Senators jumped on top early and never gave up the lead in a 3-1 home victory over the Bowie Baysox.
Drew Ward put the Senators on the board early with an RBI single in the bottom of the first inning. Alec Keller scored on a double play later in the inning to extend the lead.
Zach Collier’s solo shot in the second inning gave the Senators a 3-0 lead that they would never give up.
Mark Blackmar earned the win, giving up just one run and six hits over five innings. Derek Self and Wander Suero pitched four shut-out innings in relief for the Senators.
Major Leaguer Chris Tillman took the loss in a rehab start for the Baysox.
The Senators and Baysox will complete their three game series tomorrow with a 1:30 p.m. game at FNB Field.
