Senators fall to the Bowie Baysox 9-2 in rare morning game
The Senators fell behind early and were never able to recover, falling to the Bowie Baysox 9-2 in a rare 10:30 a.m. game.
Bowie found an early spark courtesy of Erick Salcedo. Salcedo’s grand slam in the second inning gave the Baysox a commanding 4-0 early lead.
The Baysox added to their lead with two more runs in the third inning before accentuating their impressive performance with a three-run seventh inning.
The Senators were only able to muster two runs, one in the third inning and another in the bottom of the eighth. Yadiel Hernandez’s three hit performance was a bright spot for the Senators. Hernandez homered and singled twice.
Jason Garcia picked up the win for Bowie, while Derek Eitel took his first loss of the season for the Senators.
The Senators will be back in action tomorrow against the Richmond Flying Squirrels in a 7:05 p.m. road game.
