Senators avoid sweep, take final game of series 7-4 against Bowie Baysox
After falling behind early, the Senators earned a come from behind victory to avoid the series sweep and defeat the Bowie Baysox 7-4 Saturday afternoon.
The Baysox took an early lead with a two run second inning. Both teams were held scoreless in the third and fourth innings, but the fifth inning saw plenty of offense for each side.
The Senators started things off in the top of the fifth, sending 10 men to the plate en route to a six run inning. Raudy Read’s two-run home run put an exclamation mark on the big inning. The Baysox responded with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the fifth.
The Senators scored one more insurance run in the top of the eighth inning.
Greg Ross earned his second win of the season for the Senators. Read was the Senators player of the game, going 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs.
The Senators have the day off on Sunday before returning to action Monday for a 7:05 p.m. road game against the Hartford Yard Goats.
