Four years ago Thursday, James Franklin stepped off of a plane onto the rain-soaked State College Airport asphalt, and Penn State’s football program has not been the same since.
There have been obvious low points and tremendous victories along the way, improved recruiting classes and crushing losses on the trail, some facility improvements and plans for the future, and coaching changes along the way.
In the end, the last four years have catapulted the Nittany Lions back into the national conversation, as a pair of New Year Six bowl game appearances make clear.
Today, on the four-year anniversary on his hiring, we take a look back at the key moments from each year that shaped his tenure to date before looking at a few things that will be counted on moving forward as his fifth season in blue and white begins.
