The 2017 Preakness Stakes, the middle race of the annual horse racing Triple Crown, will send runners to the post at Pimlico Race Course in Maryland at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, and Always Dreaming is the early favorite to win and setup a Triple Crown shot in early June at Belmont.
Of course, the day before the big day is Black Eyed Susan, which will bring 11 3-year-old fillies to Pimlico for Friday’s highlight race.
Unlike the Preakness, the girls’ race seems to be wide-open, which has sometimes been the case in the past, but not always.
Picks and predictions are already filtering in for both races, though, with some landing on the favorite in both races while others go price shopping.
First, some how to watch info: NBC will air both races; coverage for the Black Eyed Susan begins at 3 p.m. Friday on NBCSN, while Preakness coverage kicks off on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on NBCSN before switching to NBC for pre-race coverage at 5 p.m.
Now, let’s breakdown the contenders for both races and decide: Will the favorites romp in 2017?
