Philly sports podcast: The top 5 options for the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL draft
On this week’s episode of The Philly Walkthrough, PennLive’s Philadelphia sports podcast, Daniel and Aaron break down the NFL draft, which has finally arrived in the City of Brotherly Love.
Aaron spent a rainy Tuesday morning on the Art Museum steps checking out the NFL draft stage and set up. It’s an impressive construction, he said, and it should make for quite the spectacle on Thursday night.
Then Daniel and Aaron broke down their top five picks for the Philadelphia Eagles at No. 14 (9:45). Their lists are a combination of players who would the ideal pick, the players who could be there at No. 14 and the best fit for what the Eagles need. There are a number of possibilities at that spot, and Daniel and Aaron had a debate (18:23) on the merits of Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey at that pick — plenty of mock drafts are pointing toward the Eagles snapping him up if he’s there.
Daniel and Aaron wrap up the podcast by discussing Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon (38:40), the possibility of the Eagles taking him and what the reaction would be if that happens. There’s already been a sample from local media.
