Today’s Penn State football news headlines feature a must-know visitor on campus and power rankings of the Nittany Lions’ position groups.
Penn State played host to four-star Temecula (Calif.) linebacker Jack Lamb over the weekend and offered the 6-3, 215-pounder, Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports first reported ($). Lamb called the visit “amazing” in a tweet and saw a wave of new Penn State predictions in his 247Sports Crystal Ball. Lamb’s offer sheet has a distinct West Coast feel with UCLA, Washington, Oregon and Utah among the highlights.

Andrew Callahan of Lions 247 has a good piece ranking Penn State’s position groups from shallowest to deepest, beginning with tight ends and running through obvious position strengths at the top. The Lions’ cornerbacks checked in perhaps higher than expected at No. 6 even after the loss of John Reid to injury.
