Penn State target Shaquon Anderson-Butts gets big, SEC offer, says Alabama visiting Friday
Shaquon Anderson-Butts said he hopes to visit Florida soon after the Gators offered him Tuesday.
Shaquon Anderson-Butts said he grew up watching the Florida Gators play.
“Tim Tebow, Percy Harvin … all those guys,” the Harrisburg junior receiver said. “I loved it.”
So, Anderson-Butts said, when the Gators offered him Tuesday evening, they shot to the top of his list.
“I was so happy,” he said. “That’s my childhood team. I’ve always watched them.”
And the big-time offers may not be done rolling in for the Penn State target.
Anderson-Butts said he has been in contact with Alabama receivers coach Mike Locksley, and that Locksley told him he wanted to see him in person.
So, Anderson-Butts said, the Crimson Tide assistant is scheduled to stop in at Harrisburg High Friday.
Alabama is also in play for five-star, Harrisburg defensive end Micah Parsons.
Anderson-Butts said the Florida offer was born out of his relationship with Florida running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider.
Anderson-Butts said Seider kept in touch after leaving West Virginia for the Gators.
“They sat down and watched my film yesterday,” he said. “And their wide receivers coach (Kerry Dixon II) called me and offered me.
“He said he liked my film and playmaking ability.”
Anderson-Butts has previously released a favorites list, but he said, now, he has reset his timeframe for evaluating schools.
“If Alabama offers, I think the Ohio States and Clemsons are going to come on in the next few months,” he said. “I might break it all down, schools and options, and hopefully be ready for a decision by the end of summer going into my senior year.
“This is all just a great feeling,” he added. “I’m just going to keep working hard.”
