Penn State has landed a commitment from 247Sports’ Composite three-star offensive tackle Antwan Reed.
The Muskegon, Mich., Class of 2018 recruit picked the Lions while on campus for an unofficial visit to see Saturday’s Blue-White game at Beaver Stadium. At 6-foot-7, 326 pounds, he projects as a prototypical tackle at the next level. He picked PSU over Michigan and Michigan State, and Virginia Tech among others, and is the second commit in the Class of 2018 on Saturday after North Stafford, Va., four-star Nana Asiedu committed earlier in the day.
Reed visited Penn State a couple of times this spring, and those trips are a big part of the reason why the Lions went from relative outsiders in his recruitment to the victors.
He is the 13th player to commit to the program in this cycle, and is the second of about three tackles the program would like to take in this cycle after Wyoming Valley West four-star Chris Bleich decommitted on Friday morning.
