NFL Draft 2017: No. 3 pick Solomon Thomas expects to have a ‘nice transition’ from Stanford to San Francisco 49ers
PHILADELPHIA — When Solomon Thomas begins his NFL career, he won’t have to move far.
The No. 3 overall pick in the NFL draft will head from Stanford in Palo Alto, Calif., to San Francisco to play defensive end for the 49ers.
Thomas has known general manager John Lynch since his freshman year of college when he took a class with Lynch while he was back at Stanford finishing a degree.
Now he won’t take his next step far from where he took his last one.
“That’s such a nice transition,” Thomas said after his selection. “I went to 49er games when I was at Stanford. I love Levi’s Stadium, love the Niners fans, the 49er faithful and I’m so excited.”
