Match Preview: Harrisburg City Islanders v Orlando City B
Harrisburg, PA (April 17, 2017) – The Harrisburg City Islanders will look to keep their winning streak going and cap off the first home-stand with a win when they take on Orlando City B on Tuesday, April 18 at 6:30 p.m. at FNB Field.
In their home opener, the Islanders employed some late game magic from a late substitute in Cardel Benbow in the 90th minute. Benbow’s first goal of the season put the Islanders up 3-2 for their second straight victory.
Orlando has a current record of 1-3-1, including losing their only two games away from Orlando City Stadium. Their single win of the season thus far came in a 3-1 match against Toronto FC II.
Harrisburg spreads their scoring wealth as seven different players have tallied points this season including four different goal scorers. Paul Wilson and Manolo Sanchez, who set up Wilson’s goal against Bethlehem, both lead the team in shots with 6.
Last season, the Islanders won both match-ups between the two Eastern Conference foes. Harrisburg and Orlando played a close game in their first meeting at Orlando City Stadium before Benbow struck an 80th minute goal to give the Islanders their first win in 2016.
Tuesday’s game is the first of two meetings between the clubs. Harrisburg will travel to the Sunshine State late in the season on August 12 for the final meeting this season.
This is the last match before Harrisburg starts to prepare for the first leg of the 2017 Keystone Derby Cup against their cross-state rivals the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. The Islanders and Riverhounds will compete on Saturday, April 29 at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh, PA. A viewing party for all Islanders fans will be held that evening with location and other details coming soon.
