Kentucky Derby 2017 weather forecast: Slop expected during Run for the Roses
The Run for the Roses might turn into the Run in the Mud.
The current Weather.com forecast is showing rain in Louisville, Ky., the site of the Kentucky Derby, until 7 p.m. on Friday.
That same forecast is showing rain picking back up again on Saturday around 5 a.m. with showers lasting until 4 p.m.
Weather.com’s predicted chance of precipitation for Louisville is as high as 95 percent on Friday and 85 percent on Saturday. That could create some sloppy conditions at Churchill Downs.
Saturday’s post time for the 143rd running of the Kentucky Derby is 6:34 p.m. ET.
