Jaron Long leads the Senators shutout victory over Long Goats
Spencer Kieboom hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning, leading the Harrisburg Senators to a 6-0 win over the Hartford Yard Goats on Wednesday.
The home run by Kieboom scored Mario Lisson to give the Senators a 2-0 lead. Yadiel Hernandez drove in three insurance runs with a three-run double in the eighth inning.
Harrisburg starter Jaron Long (1-1) picked up the win after allowing just four hits over six scoreless innings. Opposing starter Jack Wynkoop (1-1) took the tough loss in the Eastern League game after allowing two runs and six hits over seven innings.
Drew Ward singled as a pinch-hitter in the eighth extending his hitting streak to seven games.
The Yard Goats were blanked for the first time this season, while the Senators’ staff also registered their first shutout of the year.
