Imhotep Charter safety Tykee Smith planning Penn State visit, could be player to watch
Imhotep Charter’s Tykee Smith has been learning from teammate, Isheem Young, a Penn State target.
Imhotep sophomore safety Tykee Smith doesn’t have an offer yet, but he’s been learning from one of the country’s best, Isheem Young, and could be a player to watch.
Smith, who helped the Battle Playmakers win the East Coast Elite 7v7 passing tournament at Spooky Nook Sunday, said he’s been hearing from Temple the most.
“I know they like me a lot,” he said.
And, he said, he hopes to visit Penn State as soon as Wednesday.
The 6-foot, 190 pounder led Imhotep Charter with four interceptions last season.
“I’m very smart on the field,” he said. “I think I’m a leader, and I make plays when it counts.
“I’ve learned a lot (from Isheem Young) about how to read defenses and things like that.”
