Penn State will take on Michigan State in this year’s Homecoming game, according to the school’s student-run homecoming organization.
The news was announced on Tuesday, roughly nine months before the Lions battle the Spartans at Beaver Stadium on Oct. 13.
All-time, Penn State is 78-22-5 in the annual alumni-centric contest, including last year’s 35-6 victory over Rutgers. The Lions have won three straight Homecoming game contests, beating Indiana in 2015 and Maryland in 2016 before dispatching the Knights a year ago.
Michigan State earned the last victory in the series between the two schools, as it scored a 27-24 victory in East Lansing, Mich., a year ago to dash the Lions’ College Football Playoff chances. MSU has a 16-15-1 all-time series advantage.
A kick time nor additional details regarding the parade or other Homecoming week events have been announced.
Following last year’s Homecoming game, strength assistant Chance Sorrell stole the show by proposing to his girlfriend (she said yes, by the way). See the video below.
