Former Penn State commit, Harrisburg athlete Shaquon Anderson-Butts flips from junior college to prep school
Shaquon Anderson-Butts announced Saturday on Twitter that he will be attending Milford Academy, a prep school in New York, instead of Iowa Western Community College.
After previously committing to Penn State, Harrisburg’s Shaquon Anderson-Butts knew his Division I plans were going to be put on hold.
However, it appears his detour will now be headed in a different direction.
The Harrisburg three-star athlete announced Saturday on Twitter that he will be attending Milford Academy, a prep school in New York, instead of Iowa Western Community College. Anderson-Butts had signed with Iowa Western earlier this month.

“I will be attending Milford academy for a post graduate year where my recruitment will be open to any school and I’ll pick the school of my choice and enroll in January,” Anderson-Butts said in his tweet.
Harrisburg native and Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy played at Milford in 2006 before heading to Pitt.
By attending a prep school, he will avoid losing a year of eligibility at the NCAA level.
“I’ll be back because I feel like I owe my family, friends, community and the state of Pa. something,” Anderson-Butts told PennLive when he signed with Iowa Western, “so in a year, y’all will see Shaquon Anderson-Butts at a big time college.”
