Five-star defensive back A.J. Lytton planning Clemson visit, but ‘feeling the love’ from Penn State coaches
A.J. Lytton has Penn State in his top five.
AJ Lytton can cover 40 yards in 4.4 seconds, and his vertical jump is nearly 40 inches.
And the five-star defensive back from Wise (Maryland) has Penn State in his recently released top five.
“(Penn State) coaches hit me up everyday,” Lytton said Sunday. “They’ve been showing me a lot of love.
“Marcus Allen his me up on Facetime and told me the coaches love me.”
The versatile 5-foot-11, 170-pound junior put his athleticism on display in Sunday’s The Opening Regional, taking home an invite to The Regional in Oregon later this summer.
“I think my ball skills and speed, and the fact that I can play any position on the field makes me special,” he said.
Lytton said he compares himself to former Southern Cal defensive back Adoree Jackson.
“He’s a track dude, and I run track, too,” he said. “We both have that speed, and I think we play a lot alike.”
Penn State has plenty of competition in the battle for Lytton’s services.
Florida State, Alabama, Clemson and Maryland also made his top five.
He said he plans to visit Clemson Wednesday.
He has yet to get to State College.
“But I hope to real soon,” he said. “Maybe in the next month or so.”
