Did the Golden State Warriors steal the Cleveland Cavaliers’ playoff motto?
Cleveland Cavaliers fans are irked the Golden State Warriors seemingly swiped Cleveland’s playoff motto, “Defend The Land,” for their own — “Defend Our Ground.” The Cavs have been referring to Cleveland as “The Land” ever since LeBron James returned in 2014; there’s merchandise for it and everything. Cavs fans say it’s tactless move by a tactless organization. Warriors fans think it’s much ado about nothing. Worry about defending the title — not a motto. What do you think?
Some say the new motto is a play on Golden State’s old slogan of “Warriors Ground,” but most folks aren’t buying it. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Or maybe the Warriors are just trolling their Eastern Conference foes? What do you think?
It’s a motto. Get over it. None of this will matter when the Warriors reclaim the title in the NBA Finals.
Game 1 ready. #StrengthInNumbers
NOPE. Don’t start nothin’, won’t be nothin’.
“can I copy your homework?”
“yeah just change it up a bit so it doesn’t look obvious you copied”
