DeMatha Catholic’s John Morgan says Franklin, Spencer ‘two of the best recruiters in the country’
DeMatha Catholic’s John Morgan runs through a drill at The Opening’s Washington, DC regional.
Some schools like John Morgan at tight end.
Others like the DeMatha Catholic junior at defensive end.
And, if he had his way, Morgan said, he’d spend his time hunting down quarterbacks.
“I really think I want to go sack the quarterback in college,” the 6-foot-2, 240 pounder said. “I just enjoy the rush that you get, the cheers that you get from the crowd when you make a big hit on a quarterback.”
Of course, Morgan said, he’s fine with playing tight end, too.
And, there’s a chance, whatever position he ends up at, he could be playing it for Penn State.
The three-star prospect’s offers include Penn State, Maryland, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Pitt and Temple.
He said he hopes to roll out a favorites list in late May and make a commitment in June.
And, he said, the Nittany Lions are in good standing with him.
“Coach (Sean) Spencer and coach (James) Franklin are probably two of the best recruiters in the country,” he said.
Morgan said he hopes to visit State College soon.
“I’m just going to get in the gym, and get ready for our team camps and this season,” he said.
