Bowie earns walk-off win over Senators
Aderlin Rodriguez was the hero Thursday night as the Bowie Baysox earned a 5-4 walk-off win over the Harrisburg Senators.
The Bowie first baseman drove in Cedric Mullins with a one-out single, his only hit on the night, in the bottom of the ninth inning to break the 4-4 tie.
Harrisburg’s Neftali Soto doubled in Andrew Stevenson to give the Senators a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Stephen Perez led off the top of the third with a double and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Drew Ward.
Trailing 2-0, Bowie surged ahead with a four-run seventh inning.
Austin Wynns and Erick Salcedo hit back-to-back singles to begin the frame before Glynn Davis tied the game with a 2-run single. A 2-run single by Audry Perez pushed Bowie ahead 4-2.
Harrisburg’s Drew Ward tied the game with a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning before Rodriguez’s heroics gave the Baysox the victory.
Jesus Liranzo (1-1) allowed two runs and struck out two over an inning of relief to record the win. Jimmy Cordero (0-1) took the loss for Harrisburg.
Raudy Read had three hits including a pair of doubles in a losing effort.
