2017 NFL Draft: Who is Mr. Irrelevant?
The Denver Broncos’ General Manager knows a thing or two about quarterbacks.
So while it was with the 253rd and final pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, John Elway must have seen something in Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly.
By selecting the Rebels’ quarterback with the last pick, the Broncos made Kelly 2017’s Mr. Irrelevant. For Kelly, that means more than just becoming a member of the Broncos.
Kelly will get to take part in Irrelevant Week, a one-week celebration created by former NFL wide receiver Paul Salata for the last pick in each year’s draft. Festivities will include an arrival party and a trip to Disneyland.
Kelly, the nephew and godson of NFL Hall of Famer Jim Kelly, received a 5.4 draft grade from NFL.com. According to the site, he was projected to go in Round 5-6.
