Saratoga Music Boosters fire up the fundraising griddle
Saratoga Music Boosters need $20,000, and they are hoping to sell enough pancakes, sausage and strawberries to earn it.
Sunday marks the annual Pancake Breakfast fundraiser at Saratoga High School, set for 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.. Saratoga student ensembles such as the elementary, middle and high school bands, choruses, color guards and orchestras will perform at the event.
“This is the only event where they put together the three Saratoga elementary schools and the one middle school and one high school,” Yuchi Wang, co-chair of the pancake breakfast said. “The students, parents and music staff all together for this one event—I think that’s kind of wonderful. I don’t see any other event like this.”
The event is organized by 150 volunteers who work the day of the breakfast to make it happen.
“On event day, we need a lot of people,” Wang said. “We have some wonderful parents come to do the flower arrangements the day before, so you will see a beautiful flower arrangement on each table.”
