Man dead, two injured in San Jose motel shooting
SAN JOSE — One man is dead and two are injured after a shooting at a motel on The Alameda early Saturday, according to San Jose police.
Officers were called at 3:24 a.m. to the Motel 6 in the 1000 block of The Alameda near Race Street after receiving reports of a shooting. They found three men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
One of the men was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other two victims were rushed to the hospital and were expected to survive, police said. The man who died was not immediately identified pending notification of his relatives.
Homicide detectives were examining the scene, and neither a motive nor any information about any suspects were released Saturday morning. The death marked the city’s eighth homicide of the year. At the same point in 2016, San Jose tallied 14 homicides on its way to recording a 25-year high of 47.
